Need a Copywriter in Jersey?

I bet you’re from Jersey and looking for a copywriter…

No? Interesting.

Well, you’re here now, so you might as well stay.

If you did actually land here on purpose – bravo!

You must need copy that cuts the mustard, and I, dear friend, am your mustard knife.

My Copywriting Services in Jersey

As you may have guessed, I’m a copywriter based in Jersey.

Sometimes…

I am based in Jersey, but I move around a lot.

Anyway, I love this little island and I’ve been writing words here for a while.

You can find my copywriting services below.

Website Copywriting

Website copywriting is the creation of copy for websites. Simple as that.

This typically ranges from sales landing pages to blog posts. This copy will be written in your brand’s tone of voice to make sure your target audience resonates with your service or offering and are therefore more likely to buy into what you’re selling.

What you want or need will depend on a few factors that we will talk about during our induction call. You might want a few custom blog posts written a month to keep your audience updated and engaged with your business. Alternatively, you may need some service or product pages that perfectly capture the USPs of what you’re selling and in a tone that resonates with your audience.

Website copywriting also covers some niche areas you might want to explore.

For example, if your website’s copy is all over the place, I can whip it into shape, buff it up and make it sound great. A general tidy-up of your website’s content.

Alternatively, you might be a new business and need copy written for your core pages (Homepage, About, Services, Products, Contact etc). This branch of website copywriting is crucial for setting the foundations of your website.

Tone of Voice

If your tone of voice doesn’t resonate with your audience in Jersey, why would they trust you? If your website’s tone of voice isn’t up to scratch, or you find out you don’t have one nailed down, we can create one. This involves an induction call to discuss your brand values, what your core services and products are, who your audience is and ultimately creating a buyer persona.

The devil is in the details with tone of voice. If your message architecture is off, or you’re using inappropriate vocabulary, you’re in trouble. Let’s look at an example.

Client: Hettich Jewellers

Opening copy:

“‘Ello, ‘ello, ‘ello! Step right up to Hettich Jewellers – Jersey’s classiest joint for all ‘yer baubles and trinkets. We got diamonds that’ll blind ‘yer nan and gold that’ll make ‘yer mum weep. Come on down and treat ‘yerself or ‘yer fam to a bit of bling.”

Sure, a slight indulgence in hyperbole here. But you get the point. Let’s take a look at what it should sound like:

“Welcome to Hettich Jewellers. We are delighted to showcase our finest collection of jewels and precious metals in Jersey, each a testament to impeccable craftsmanship and timeless design. We invite you to indulge in the luxury and opulence of our offerings, whether for yourself or as a gift for a loved one.”

Tone of voice goes a long way. Let’s create or enhance yours today.

Blog Posts

Blog posts are a powerful tool to boost your online presence and connect with your target audience on the island (or further afield). Their main purpose is to create content that educates, entertains, and engages your readers. You want people coming back to your blog for more. Why? Because it positions you as an industry authority and drives traffic to your website. Both of which are valued highly by search engines.

Press Releases

Press releases are essential for businesses to communicate important news and updates to the media and the public. I’m able to craft compelling and newsworthy stories that capture the attention of journalists and readers alike. A great press release can increase brand awareness, drive traffic to your website, and even generate new business opportunities on the island.

Let’s get the word out and persuade your audience to take notice.

SEO Copywriting

Your website might look great, and your copy may sound fantastic, but if no one is reading it, what’s the point?

SEO copywriting is the art of optimising web pages to rank on search engines. If your copy has no keywords, chances are it won’t rank. Additionally, keywords help inform search engines what your page is about. The key to SEO copywriting is to incorporate keywords organically so that it doesn’t disrupt the narrative flow of your content. You can’t just stuff a bunch of them in your copy either. If you did, Google or any other search engine would likely penalise your website. You don’t want that.

My job is to find out how your content is currently ranking and what can be done to improve it.

Magazines and Brochures

You know that crisp, clean and memorable smell of a freshly bound magazine or brochure? That’s how your copy should be.

Whether you need a brochure to showcase your products or a magazine to highlight your brand story, I can help you create compelling and visually appealing content that resonates with your audience and drives results.

Newsletters

Looking to keep your audience and mailing list engaged in Jersey? Newsletters are an effective way to connect with your audience and keep them informed and engaged with your brand.

From industry news to company updates, I craft newsletters that inform, educate, and inspire your audience. I’ll work closely with you to understand your brand and tailor the content to your target audience, ensuring that each newsletter is personalised and relevant. Let me help you build stronger relationships with your subscribers and achieve your marketing goals with expertly crafted newsletters.

Slogans and Straplines

People get these confused. And I don’t blame them.

Straplines or taglines summarise the brand in one line, including its personality, values and identity. They should position the company in the context of its competitors and in the mind of the consumer. Let’s look at some Jersey straplines written by copywriters:

De Gruchy – Forever Inspired

Rowlands Recruitment – Your Recruitment Partner

Gaudin & Company – The Property People

The three straps above have one thing in common: they say something aspirational, valuable and inspirational. Most, if not all of the world’s most iconic straplines, like Nike’s “Just Do It” and L’Oréal’s “Because you’re worth it” also follow this format.

Slogans, on the other hand, are designed to grab your attention and stick around in your memory. The confusing thing is, they can pretty much be anything. They can be found on t-shirts, badges, stickers, posters, banners and more.

Slogans can also be headlines that were once used for commercial purposes but have now become popular expressions in everyday language, earning a long-lasting lease of life as an idiomatic phrase. Ronseal’s “It Does Exactly What It Says on the Tin”, is a good example of a slogan that lived long after its expiry date.

If you’re looking for someone to write, or join the creative process of coming up with a strapline or slogan for your brand, I’m here to help.

Editing

Let’s be honest, editing takes a long time, but the guarantee of error-free copy is crucial. What do you do? Hire an editor.

The comfort of knowing that your web copy, brochure, magazine or any written medium is being sent out into the world, error free, is always worth the investment. I’ve been editing copy for hundreds of clients for almost a decade and only one has complained. This was my mother during her wedding speech.

Whether you need editing for sales or product pages, a once-over for a newsletter or a heavy edit of product descriptions and metadata across your website, I can push your copy over the line.

Not Sure What You Need?

If you don’t know what kind of copy you want, or need, that’s fine too! Let’s talk it through.
