Website copywriting services
You want some (words on a website)? Fine, I’ll give ’em to ya. – The Wealdstone Raider
Website copywriting is for anyone looking to increase leads, sales, and add a pinch of personality to their website.

What is website copywriting?
Website copywriting is about getting people to act, to DO something on the website.
The copywriting aspect is about persuading them to take that action, whether it’s to buy a product, subscribe to a newsletter, watch a video, anything really.
Website copy is usually found on the core pages of a website, like the home, service, about and contact pages.
You can see an example of a landing page I wrote for Rowlands Recruiment.

Will website copywriting help increase my ranking positions?
It absolutely can, if approached and written the correct way. No one can guarantee ranking positions from the get-go, but what I can guarantee is human-written copy is better than no copy, or worse, AI-written copy.
Great web copy can yield results like what I acheived with Plate Mate (a wicked client who designs and sells number plates).
Results from some kickass website copywriting
Plate Mate’s website had zero traffic in 2024, aside from a few visitors trickling in from paid ads.
I created a content strategy for them, starting with fixing and optimising existing pages, then moved onto creating and writing core service pages targetting product-specific keywords for the first few months to lay the foundations.
I coupled this with blog posts that targetted high-volume traffic driving (informational) keywords that provided useful info and answered commonly asked questions surrounding number plates.
Plate mate went from 0 traffic to averaging 2.5k traffic every month.

You can check out more of their results over on the Plate Mate Case Study page.

Can’t I just get AI to write my website copy?
I mean yeah, you could – but it’s extremely risky for several reasons.
Because there is so much ‘AI slop’ content out there, people and businesses are wisening up to it, and the headline is… well, AI copy sucks.
I mean, it really, really really sucks.
Sure, your nan might think it’s fine, but when it comes to consistently converting readers into buyers, AI copy just doesn’t cut the mustard.
The other issue is that Google, search engines, and, ironically, AI – are becoming more and more strict over what is deemed ‘helpful content’.
Basically, if your website copy is purely written by AI, and is therefore, quite awful, you’ll not onyl find people won’t read it, but search engines and AI may not rank or even index it. This means that it’ll basically be hidden on results pages, and your customers won’t find you.
Here’s an example below:

How does it work? And how much does website copywriting cost?
If you’re keen to chat about website copywriting, the best thing to do is ping me a message via my contact form, or emailing me at hello@wordgoose.co.uk.
From here, we can discuss your web copy needs, budget and ultimately put some copy on your pages that you and your visitors resonate with.
Price for website copy
The idiom ‘how long is a piece of string’ comes to mind.
To keep things simple, I work on 10, 15 and 25+ hour retainers per month, and web copy prices can be as low as £300 a month.
But, we’ll usually agree a price after having a chat over the phone or a video call.
Is website copywriting the same as SEO copywriting?
Nah.
SEO copywriting is more about keeping in search engines’ (and now AI overview’s) good books. It helps people find you in the first place.
Weaving in relevant keywords and optimising metadata, headings and alt texts are some of the core ingredients. It’s written with search engines in mind, using the words people type into Google.
It’s a great bolt-on to website copywriting, but it has a different purpose – and it ain’t the same.
The best websites do both. They show up in search results and give visitors a good reason to stick around. Otherwise you either have a brilliant website no one finds… or loads of traffic reading something that doesn’t persuade anyone to do anything.
